Typus: A. Jahn 155 (in flower, March 1911; Holotypus: US [US00132234 (602482)^{(GBIF, JSTOR, speciesLink)}]; Isotypus: VEN [fide Diazgranados 2012, but not seen by him]).
Type locality: Venezuela. State of Táchira: Páramo del Batallón, at an altitude of 3,000 meters.
