Diagnosis: Endocarpon pusillum simile, sed differt rhizinis rhizohyphisque nullis.

Type: MEXICO. Baja California Sur: N-facing conglomerate outcrops along pass through the Sierra de la Giganta 23.5 km SW of Loreto along dirt road to San Javier, 25o57' N, 111o30' W, c. 580 m, 18 March, 1992, T.H. Nash III 30410 (ASU).

World distribution: Only known from NW Mexico
