Ecballocystopsis desikacharyi A.K.S.K.Prasad, 1985

• Type locality: Coonoor, Nilgiris District, Tamil Nadu State, India. On moist Eucalyptus tree bark; ca. 1800 m; associated with the desmid Mesotaenium.
• Holotype: Icon 1-13: 1976-10 (first collected 1976-10 but confirmation of the taxon as an undescribed species based on material collected in 1977).
