Name edit

Dregea E.Mey., Comm. Pl. Afr. Austr.: 199. (1838) nom. cons.

Note: The genus and type are in synonymy with Stephanotis. While the African species of Dregea are fairly uniform and can be transferred safely to this genus based on morphological evidence only, the Asian taxa are much more heterogeneous and have only been transferred, if molecular evidence is available (Liede-Schumann et al., 2022}.

  • Dregea Ecklon & Zeyher, Enum. 350. (1837) nom. rej. in favour of Ifdregea Steud. (1840) vide Notobubon B.-E.van Wyk, Taxon 57(2): 355. (2008) (Apiaceae)
