- Type locality: "Ad litus meridionale Novae Hollandiae. Vidi in coliectione Mussei Parisiensis.". Lectotype: LD Herb. Agardh, 27352 (Womersley 1994: 425). Notes: Agardh specifically designates as type Fucus N:o B b, Musei Parisiensis, so it peculair that a speciemns in LD has been chosen over this.
