Name

Cyclamen creticum Hildebr., Beih. Bot. Centralbl., Abt. 2. 19(2): 367 (1906).

• Type: Greece, Crete: region of Malaxa, living material sent by Prof. Miliarakis (Athens) and cultivated in Freiburg, later transferred to Karlsruhe (KR) and probably destroyed.
• Neotype (designated by Compton 2004): “"Nomos Chanion. South from Maleme, Aghia Irini district, west of Omalos in a gulley with stream, sheltered. Acer orientalis group, leafmould, damp. Flowers pure white”. M. G. Hodgman 1. April 1976 (RNG).
• Note: Published independently from Dörfler (1905), whose publication and collection were not mentioned by Hildebrand (1906).
