Name edit

Crassocephalum vitellinum (Benth.) S.Moore, 1912

  • Type location: Fernando Po, Equatorial Guinea
  • Holotype: Vogel s.n. (K 000306764)

Synonyms edit

  • Gynura vitellina Benth., 1849 (Niger Fl.:438)
  • Several sources mention a Gynura aurantiaca also from Niger Flora, but the species is not actually described beyond the brief mention on page 437 that it is " intermediate in habit, as well as in the thickness of the florets, between Cremocephalum and Gynura". The name is thus likely a nomen nudum and also illegitimate with regard to Gynura aurantiaca Cass. (1834).
