Diagnosis: Differt a Corticifraga fuckelii ascosporis minoribus et latioribus (8.5-)10-11.5(-14) x (4.5-)5-6(-7.5) μm, et hospite diverso (Lobaria scrobiculata).

Type: U.S.A. Alaska. Skagway Borough, Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park, Chilkoot Trail, between Saintly Hill and Finnegan's Point, N end of beaver ponds and board walk area, 59o32.935'N 135o20.005'W, on Lobaria scrobiculata on twig(s) of Picea sitchensis, 35 m, 26 Jul 2008, T. Tønsberg 38839 (BG, holotype).

Etymology: Named after its host, Lobaria scrobiculata

Distribution: Only known from the type locality
