Type: L.J. Brass & Myer-Drees[E. Meijer Drees] 9831 (in flower and fruit, September 1938; Holotype: A 00063026^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}; Isotypes: BM [BM000796380^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], BO-1316302^(GBIF), BRI-AQ0317793^(JSTOR), L 0000254^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}; 'clastotype' (i.e. loose fragment of the holotype): BISH [BISH1004325 (577201)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]).
Type locality: [Indonesia.] Netherlands New Guinea[Western New Guinea]: 7 km. northeast of Wilhelmina-top[Puncak Trikora], alt. 3560 m., pendent in great cushion-like masses on moist semi-shaded cliffs.
