Life habit: Lichenicolous fungus (parasite on living lichens)   (on Cetraria and Flavocetraria)

Type: RUSSIA. Yakutiya: Lena River delta, Stolb Is., 72o24'N, 126o40'E, alt. 40 m, tundra, on Flavocetraria cucullata (th.), 12 viii. 1998, M. Zhurbenko 9867 (LE 232768, holotype).

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to its 2-spored asci.

Hosts: Grows on lobes of Cetraria laevigata and Flavocetraria cucullata, mainly on their bases, occasionally on central portions.

Distribution: Known from arctic tundra and forest--tundra in the Lower Lena River region.
