Notes

edit
  • Clematis × pellieri Carrière has long beeen attributed to the hybrid between C. languginosa and C. erecta, but this is a misinterpretion for C. languginosa × C. 'Erecta'. 'Erecta' was a cultivar of C. viticella.
  • Clematis × contorta Carrière (Rev. Hort. 380. 1879) possibly belongs here too.
  • The name Clematis × jackmanii covers all hybrids between C. lanuginosa and C. viticella, not just the clone 'Jackmanii' in cultivation.
  • It is not likely that the cultivar grown today as 'Jackmanii' is the same as published by T.Moore.
