• Type locality: Napostá Creek, Parque de Mayo, Bahía Blanca, Province of Buenos Airea, Argentina.
• Holotype: D.W. Freshwater and B. Degan; June 28, 2009; attached to shell beneath shallow sediment, 44 m depth; WNC; 34102 (specimen record NCweed-80). Isotype: Elisa R. Parodi; 18 May 1988; BBB; Parodi 12 (fig. 2) .
