Chroodiscus defectus Papong & Lücking, 2009


Type location: THAILAND. Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province: Khao Lung National Park, 8o43'N, 99o41'E, 170 m, tropical rain forest, 15 Feb 2006, Papong 4131 (KKU, holotype). Paratypes: Same locality and date, Papong 3619 (RAMK), 4079 (F). Surat Thani Province: Khao Sok National Park, 8o55'N, 98o31'E, 70 m, tropical rain forest, 14 Feb 2006, Papong 5118 (KKU).

Ecology and distribution: On living leaves of vascular plants in lowland to submontane rain forest; from India (Nicobar Islands), Sri Lanka, Thailand, continental Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan and Japan.

Etymology: The epithet refers to the absense of isidia compared to Chroodiscus mirificus.
