- Type: authentic strain (SAG 211-9a), preserved in a metabolically inactive state (epitype) W. Krüger; Epiphytic, sap from wounded Populus alba; Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, Oban, Scotland; Isotype culture: Indiana Algal Culture Coll. no. 27, Cambridge Coll. no. 211/9, isolated by Krüger (fide Shihira & Krauss, Chlorella: 27. 1965).
