  • Lectotype: BM; Collins, Holden & Setchell, Phyc. Bor.-Amer. No. 565 (Darienko & al. 2021: 17). Isolectotypes: in numerous herbaria.
  • Epitype: Authentic strain CCMP 2288 cryopreserved in metabolically inactive state at the Bigelow National Center for Marine Algae and Microbiota, East Boothbay, Maine, USA. (designated by Darienko & al. 2021)
