- Neotype locality: Seal Rock near Newport, Oregon, USA. Neotype: fig 44: T.O. Cho & G. Hansen; 10 July 1998; Herbarium of Department of Botany, Chungnam National University, Daejon, Korea C00044. (A type specimen was not designated by Farlow (1875). Doty (1947) designated a lectotype from the collection made by Mr. E. Hall in Oregon (probably Clatsop County) in 1871. However, this material is missing (Cho et al. 2000: 324).)
