Carlo Antonio Fornasini
Carlo Antonio Fornasini (1802/1805 – 1865) Italian amateur field naturalist. Worked in Mozambique. Corresponded with Antonio Bertoloni, Giuseppe Bertoloni and Giovanni Giuseppe Bianconi of the Academy of Sciences of the Institute of Bologna.
He seems not to have published any papers, but to be remembered only by the taxa named in his honour.

- Myomenippe fornasinii Bianconi 1851 (as Menippe fornasinii). No evidence has been found that Bianconi described Menippe fornasini. This may be the same species as Galene fornasinii Bianconi 1851,[5] not otherwise identified
- Fornasinius G.Bertoloni 1853.[6] It is not clear when and by whom Fornasinius was raised to the rank of genus
- Fornasinius fornasinii G.Bertoloni 1853 (as Goliathus fornasini; type species) [7]
- Fulvia fragilis Forsskål in Niebuhr 1775,[8] as Cardium fornasinianum Bianconi 1856 [9]
- Eleotris fusca Forster 1801, as Eleotris fornasini Bianconi 1856 [10] Although the literature says 1856, no description earlier than 1858 has been located
- Coturnix delegorguei (Harlequin quail) Delegorgue 1847, as Coturnix fornasini Bianconi 1865 [11][12]
