Grimmia sp. Apothecia numerosa, dispersa vel aggregata, sessilia vel subsessilia, 0.5–1 mm diam. Discus planus aurantiacus, KOH+ purpureus. Discus planus epruinoso. Margo proprius prominens. Epihymenium fuscoluteum. Hymenium et subhymenium incoloratum. Hymenium 70–90(–100) µm altum. Paraphyses 2–3 mm crassae, apicibus capitatis et ad 5–6 µm crasis, in parte epihymeniale furcatae. Asci clavate 45–60 µm longa. Ascosporae octonae polariloculares ellipsoidea, (12–)13–15 3 (7–)8–11 µm magnae. Septum (1.5–)2–3 µm. Pycnidia non visa.

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to Consuelo (Chely) Herna´ndez-Padro´n in recognition of her many contributions to the development of Canarian lichenology.
