  • Typus: P. Commerson s.n. (in fruit; holotypus: P, see also the record on Tropicos).
    • Note: Razafimandimbison states that this type specimen was misidentified as Breonia chinensis (Lam.) Capuron by Capuron (1973) [unpublished manuscript] and then as type of Cephalidium citrifolium (Poir.) A.Rich. [≡ Nauclea citrifolia Poir. = Breonia chinensis] by Bosser (1984 publ. 1985).
  • Type locality: Madagascar.
