Note: Govaerts et al. (2020) and Christenhusz et al. (2018) place Smeathmannia R.Br. in synonymy, but this is not universally accepted. In addition, if the two genera are synonymous then the genus Smeathmannia (1821) ought to have been adopted, as it has priority ICN Section 3 Art. 11. Therefore, the above is a view of Barteria s.s. (Catol-Hassler, 2020), as WS must adopt a conservative position.
