Diagnosis: Species nova similis Bapalmuiae sorediatae, sed differt ascosporis maioribus (80-100 x 2-3 µm) 15-25-septatis.
Type: PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Central Province: Varirata National Park, 22 km E of Port Moresby, 9o 26' S, 147o 21' E, 800 m, tropical rainforest remnants along stream, foliicolous, 23. X. 1995, Sérusiaux s.n. (LG, holotype; hb. Lücking, isotype).
