Diagnosis: Haec species imprimis apotheciis usque ad 1.0 mm latis et margine persistente et hypothecio rubrofusco K+ purpureo ab speciebus aliis generis Bapalmuia differt.
Type: COSTA RICA. Puntarenas: Carara Biological Reserve, 55 km WSW of San José near the Pacific coast, 9o 47' N, 84o 35' W, 50-100 m, lowland evergreen moist forest, on leaves of Erythrochiton gymnanthus (Rutaceae), IX. 1991, Lücking 91-1835 (Costa Rica, holotype).
