Host-Substratum/Locality: On bark: Florida
Diagnosis: Species distincta sporis bilocularibus cum uno vel ambis cellulis in medio parum constrictis, asperis, 21-29 x 8.5-10 µm, microconidiis linearibus, 6.5-9 x 1 µm et algis ad Trentepohlia pertinentibus.
Type: Merr. II: 38, Florida, Daytona, 18.II.1911 Merrill (MSC -- holotype). Isotypes in MICH & US.
World distribution: Probably restricted to (sub-) tropical America.
Sonoran distribution: A rather common species, with numerous collections from southern California (Channel Islands), Baja California Sur and Sinaloa.
