• Type locality: "Gydokap, Roodeberg", Kamiesberg, Northern Cape, South Africa
• Lectotype: J. F. Drège 6161 (G-DC)
  • Designated by McKenzie & Barker (2010:300); according to them, the other specimen in the protologue is Arctotis diffusa Thunb., 1799.
