- Type locality: "Côtes du Portugal" [Portugal coasts].
- Holotype: unknown; CN unnumbered. Type illustrated in Harvey et al. (2013: fig. 4C).
- Eponymy: Named for Ambroise Marie François Joseph Palisot de Beauvois.
