Adina pubicostata Merr., J. Arnold Arbor. 21(3): 385 (1940); not accepted by Govaerts (1995, 2003), Ridsdale (1978: 358) [cited as Adina pilulifera], but accepted by Chen & Taylor (2011)

Typus: P.A. Pételot 3571 (August 1929; holotypus: A-A00214395; isotypi: A-A00061053, NY-NY00130799^(mirror), US-US00130628-1759292^(mirror)).
Type locality: Indo-China[Vietnam]. Tonkin[Lào Cai]: Chapa[Sa Pa], in forests, altitude about 1500 m.
