@Gerbil: the article Nsungwepithecus gunnelli exists, but relation to Gunnell is not showed--Estopedist1 (talk) 18:17, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
The formal descriptions of genus Nsungwepithecus and species Nsungwepithecus gunnelli have been published as mentioned above: ″Specific name is in honour of Gregg F. Gunnell for his many contributions to primate palaeontology.″ --Gerbil (talk) 18:53, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Gerbil: I created Category:Eponyms of Gregg F. Gunnell. Do you know any taxon yet named after him? Possible may be eg Gunnellichthys--Estopedist1 (talk) 12:25, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
No. I just wrote de:Nsungwepithecus, based on doi:10.1038/nature12161, and there he is mentioned as cited above. (and, by the way, also Rukwapithecus fleaglei - genus & species nov. - in honour of John G. Fleagle). If Gunnellichthys has been namend by Bleeker in 1858, this "Gunnell" cant be Gregg F. Gunnell (1954–2017). Gerbil (talk) 14:18, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[1]Reply
