The plant list present this plant as Anemone vitifolia var. matsudae Yamam. (1927). However, the earliest combination at varital rank is Anemone japonica var. hupehensis Lemoine (1908). I have not found a combination of this name under A. vitifolia. Therefor I use the specific rank until a correct varietal name can be found. I should not be a big problems as Anemone hupehensis is the most videly used name for this plant. Uleli (talk) 18:21, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
