Talk:Deeringothamnus

Ward (2001) considered the two species over to be conspecific and Deeringothamnus pulchellus to be a variety of Deeringothamnus rugelii based upon the earlier basionym Asimina rugelii B.L. Rob. (1897). However, the two have consistently been kept separate in secondary sources and in research. Andyboorman (talk) 18:26, 23 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

In addition, Asimina and Deeringothamnus could be combined and this is sometimes found in recent secondary sources and scientific literature - see Hassler (2017) and Mercer et al. (2015). Andyboorman (talk) 12:20, 4 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
