Typus:
- Lectotypus: G. Mann [2159] ([in flower, December 1862]; K [cf. K000411861^(JSTOR), 'unknown type material']; iso[lecto]typi: GH 00094949^(JSTOR), P [P00553403^(JSTOR)]).
  - Note: the collection number did not appear in the protologue and was presented by Hutchinson & Dalziel (1931: 91) and Bremekamp (1934: 76).
- Syntypi: Mann s.n. and Mann s.n.[1729?]
Type locality:
- Lectotypus: CAMEROON Mountains, at 2–3,000 ft.
- Syntypi: [GABON.] Gaboon River and Sierra del Crystal.
  - Note: it seems that the one from Sierra del Crystal (#1729) was later described as Pavetta gabonica Bremek.
