  • Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA, [Western Cape]: S. Cape, Mt. Helderfontein, 1150 m, 33.56S–20.52E, sifted fynbos.
  • Holotype: DNMNH # 1561, ♂, 8.iii.1979, Endrödy-Younga.
  • Etymology: Named after the comparatively simple structure of the aedeagus (Lat. simplicipenis = having a simple aedeagus).
