Welcome to Wikispecies, Kaldari!

We like having new people contributing to Wikispecies. Here are a few things that may be interesting:

  • If you haven't done so, we strongly recommend you to create an account. Creating account is quick and free, plus it provides you more features such as preferences and the ability to keep a watchlist to track changes made to articles that interest you.
  • Have a look at Done and to do.
  • Help:Contents provides a good introduction to editing Wikispecies.
  • Templates are there to help you following syntax and formatting rules.

Please ask further questions in the Village Pump.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at the Wikimedia Commons.

We hope you'll enjoy the time you spend on Wikispecies!

Salticid tribes edit

It doesn't matter. The overview of genera section allows the user to go straight from family or subfamily to genus. Stho002 (talk) 22:10, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

The classification of many groups is more or less meaningless. It is a continuum. We still want to keep track of available family-group names. The main thing is that we can find genera and species easily. Stho002 (talk) 22:56, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
I will immediately delete any unranked clades that are added, we don't want them here on Wikispecies Stho002 (talk) 23:11, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
No, but clade based classifications are typically too unstable to be useful here, and our emphasis is on the leaves of the tree of life. One of the points of this site is to link taxa to relevant references. Stho002 (talk) 23:25, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
