Tehuana calzadae Panero & Villaseñor, Syst. Bot. 21(4): 555 (553-557; figs. 1-2) (1997).

• Type locality: Mexico, Oaxaca : Dist. Tehuantepec, Mun. San Pedro Huamelula, 7.6 km al N de la carretera Pochutla-Salina Cruz sobre la carretera a Cocos a traves de San Pedro Huamelula, alt. 110 m. 16°2'13" N, 95°40'37" W.
• Type: leg. J.L.Panero, J.I.Calzada & T. Boland J.L.P. 5970, 17 Sep 1995. Holotype: MEXU; Isotypes: ENCB, IEB, NY, TENN, TEX, UC.
