Rhinolophus ruwenzorii Hill, 1942: 1

  • Holotype: AMNH 82394, adult ♀, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by James P. Chapin, Sage and Mathews on 24 December 1926.
  • Type locality: “south side of Butahu Valley, western slope of Mount Ruwenzori [DR Congo], altitude 7,500 feet [= 2286 m]”.

Synonyms

  • Rhinolophus kahuzi Fahr & Kerbis Peterhans in Kerbis Peterhan et al., 2013: 194 [synonymised by Demos et al. (2019: 11)]
    • Holotype: FMNH 219793, subadult ♂, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by R. Kizungu on 28 July 2007.
    • Type locality: “Western slope of Mt Kahuzi, Kahuzi-Biega National Park, South Kivu Province, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, 2°15'09"S, 28°40'09"E, 2600 m. Found within mixed Afrocarpus and Nuxia forest on the slope of Mt Kahuzi”.
