Leaves ^-1inch long, petioled, ovate or obovate, acute, deeply toothed or lobed, thesinus often round, more or less reticulated on 5-7 leading nerves, coria-ceous. Peduncles erect, axillary, 1-1 i inches long, growing out as the fruitripens, 1-flowered, calyx tube globose, lobes linear, obtuse, coriaceous.Corolla 5-partite, but by the fi-equent union of three lobes, 3-partite, lobeslong, very narrow, round at top. Anthers glabrous, united round the styleand supported by the filaments. Capsule ovoid, ^-^ inch long. Hab.—Lake Ohou Mountains; alt., 5,000 feet on loose shingle.—Buchanan and McKay, 1882.
