Summary
DescriptionPediastrum simplex epifluo.jpg
English: An epifluorescent photo carries other information than phase contrast setting. In epifluorescent microscopy, the light emission source is the sample alone, so this technique permits to see a cell's microstructure, in some cases even at molecular level. Phase contrast setting uses a translucent light showing the cell's macrostructure.
Images have been made by Nikon Eclipse E 600 light microscope using an original magnification of 400x - 600x range, at South-Transdanubian Emvironment Protection Inspectorate, Laboratory for Environment Protection (Hungary).
Photos of algae have been taken from samples of natural surface waters of South-Transdanubian region; the majority originated from river Dráva and lake Baláta.
Scientific names of algal speciei are found in the header of the images.
Magyar: Az epifluoreszcens mikroszkópiában a fényforrás a tárgy maga; ez láthatóvá tehet akár molekuláris szerkezeteket is.
A fotók a Dél-dunántúli Környezetvédelmi Felügyelőség laboratóriumában készültek, Nikon Eclipse E 600 mikroszkóppal, 400x-600x nagyítással.
Az algafotók a Dél-dunántúl (a régió) természetes vizeinek mintáiból vannak, többségben a Dráva folyó és a Baláta-tó vízéből.
