Diagnosis: Echinoplaca speciei thallo areolato et hyphophoris capitatis differt.

Type: U.S.A. Florida. Brevard Co.: Corner of Fox Lake Road and South Carpenter Road, just W of St. Rd. 405 and I-95 at Titusville, 28o35'N, 80o51'W, Quercus myrtifolia scrub, on twigs, 7 Jan 1996, Buck 29073 (NY, holotype).
