Holotype: CASIZ 194902, collected by P. L. Colin on 12 October 2001.

Type locality: “west side of Nu’utele Island, to the west of Ofu Island, Manu’a Group of Islands , American Samoa, 14.174 S, 169.686 W, 6 m depth”.
