• Formula hybridae: Asplenium obovatum subsp. billotii × Asplenium obovatum var. protobillotii
• Typus: Spain, Prov. Cadiz, Miel Valley, c. 5 km W. of Algeciras at c. 110 m alt., 14th April 1988, H. Rasbach, K. Rasbach & H.W. Bennert. Holotype (4 fronds of original collection): Ras-601 TR-7008 (B), isotype (Plant afterwards cultivated, used for cytological examination, divided into 5 parts): BM, G, MA).
