English: A rare short-spined Crown of Thorns Starfish (Acanthaster brevispinus) at Malapascuas Island, Philippines. This picture appears to be the first photograph of this species alive in its environment, previous known specimens having been trawled.
Français : Une rarissime étoile à épines courtes Acanthaster brevispinus dans son environnement à Malapascua, aux Philippines. Cette photo est une des toutes premières photographies connues de l'espèce dans son milieu naturel ; cette espèce n'avait précedemment été récoltée que trois fois en 1917, 1976 et 1984 et n'avait jamais été observée in situ.
